Really, Filofax?

I expected two small sets of Filofax pages to arrive in an envelope, perhaps an envelope with a bit of cardboard. Not deep within a medium-sized box which contained a big wodge of packing paper and a padded envelope (one of the filled with lint extra-recycled ones no less).

The box is too small for the cats to even try to sit in, so right into the recycling it goes.

A future thing: sort through old and very old art.

A tonight thing: relaxing evening activity of CueCating (that's a verb now, I say) long-stored books into LibraryThing.

I mis-typed CueCat when searching for somewhere to link, and landed on CURCAT, "a unique psychometrically evaluated tool in VET for measuring practitioners' industry currency."

Card sorting

I finally got a folder to keep cards in and sat down to sort them. Christmas cards, birthday cards, extra envelopes, and all that. The cat decided the pen I was writing labels with was something to bat around then chew on.

A cat has a black pen between his outstretched paws. Nearby are a card with a Christmas tree on the front and a small pile of envelopes.

I left the label for the blank cards blank, because that entertained me a lot and I will likely remember.

Art from 2009

In doing some tidying of shelves (going through books and knick-knacks, and wow is my giraffe collection dusty) I found a small notebook with one drawing in, from 2009.

Mother bovine (I intended bison but wasn't somewhere where I had any reference images) holding her sleeping baby. Done in pencil.

Pages

A soothing something: sitting down and pulling past months out of my organiser while adding in the start of next year. It's something I've really come to enjoy about having a Filofax, that I don't need to carry around either no long relevant previous months, nor too far in the future.

Someday I'll take the time to set up proper storage of used pages. The many books from when I had a fresh bound agenda each year were lined up on a shelf for a long while, until they reached really no longer relevant and got tucked away into a storage box.

Hand wash only

In clearing off the scanner (horizontal surfaces keep getting paper on them) I found a yellow plastic ruler with a giraffe face, still in its packaging. The package states: Hand wash only.

No dishwasher for you, little flat giraffe. Can't say I would have intended one.

I took my box of papercrafty things out of the closet for a reason, but since the boycat promptly hopped onto the box... I've let him be and will do that project later.

It makes him so happy. "I'm three extra inches off the ground! On something rectangular!"

Yay CueCat

Relaxing things: adding a small pile of books to my set of them on LibraryThing (KatherineSFF there) by scanning them using my CueCat.

I might have let the new-to-me books pile up for this very activity.

While I haven't got the scanner properly uncovered yet (for one thing, I kept being distracted by putting books in boxes) I did finally take a photo of some G3 My Little Ponies I got in Seattle.

Line of My Little Ponies

Clockwise: Starcatcher, a G3 baby (barely visible under the poof of hair), McDonald's Scootaloo (Ponyville, I think), a yellow fakie, two more McDonald's ponies (Minty and Scootaloo again) and a Cherilee (I think) I haven't actually identified yet.

The girlcat started nomming on Starcatcher's hair. I guess she too likes tinsel.

Three more

Darn it, I just found three more Janice Kay Johnsons, not counting one I left on the shelf deliberately or the one in the unread stretch of contemporary novels. I think the Under One Roof trilogy will live on the shelf instead of the three newer ones that were hiding from me. (Well back in the first row, oh double-stacking.)
