Hand wash only

In clearing off the scanner (horizontal surfaces keep getting paper on them) I found a yellow plastic ruler with a giraffe face, still in its packaging. The package states: Hand wash only.

No dishwasher for you, little flat giraffe. Can't say I would have intended one.

Serval next to a standing Giraffe. The Giraffe is out of frame above the knees.

Another piece I put in the Vancoufur art show, this is a Serval next to a Giraffe.

Tria markers, brown brush-tip pen, white gel pen, and Prismacolor pencil crayons.

Because a couple months back they had "Opulence", a Giraffe shirt that makes me think of the cute pretend miniature ones.

So this is what happens when I'm finally got a piece for the art show a good third coloured. Different art entirely.

Yet another con badge. Me (usual anthropomorphic cat self) holding my giraffe backpack.

Black fineliner pen with pencil crayons on blue paper.

Searching for a possible craft project component landed me, instead, on a blogger's post about "a commercial with a mini giraffe" and thus to Russia's Finest Purveyors of Petite Lap Giraffes.

If only!

I shall comfort myself with the idea that if mini giraffes existed and I had one the cats would try to be mighty hunters and thus this would not be an appropriate home.

Last Rainfurrest, I did this pencil portrait of a Giraffe with an eartag that shows the same.

Pencil drawing of a Giraffe with a rectangular metal eartag that has a portrait of the giraffe

I had it printed on to a metal badge by Bedlam Badges and, completing my plan, I clipped on to the ear of my giraffe backpack:

(The shirt behind the Giraffe is the Rainfurrest con shirt, art by the guest of honor TaniDaReal.)

Somday I am clearly getting back to Edinburgh and this time going to Leith Walk, because giraffe sculptures!

The flock of pigeons are a little abstract for my taste though.

Woot shirts

I was already wearing a Woot shirt this evening (from last random sale) when I opened up my latest from them. Yay shirts! The Hunt (predator eye with a giraffe reflected in) looks lovely. Must have been sitting next to something in the mail journey, though, because it smells all piney. Early Christmas scent is fine by me.

In a recent dollar store trip, I found an adorable little figurine of what I promptly decided was a Dragon-Giraffe. Something about the sweeping horns, big eyes and small nose.

Side-view of her next to a sign: It's a girl

Front-view of her with the gold-edged sign.

She needed to be called something incredibly girly, so is Flowerette. (A name I found in Suzette Haden Elgin's Native Tongue series.)

Yay, my Giraffe came.

He has adorably mis-matched horns. And button eyes.
