katherine: A line of books on a shelf, in greens and browns (books)
At the moment I'm reading:

Star-Anchored, Star-Angered one of Suzette Haden Elgin's Coyote Jones novels.

Daughters of the Dolphin by Roy Meyers seems to be very much Tarzan with dolphins rather than apes. The raised-by-Dolphins man has trained an Octopus.

There seem to be rather a lot of SF-ish novels involving dolphins should I want to continue the theme: http://www.helsinki.fi/~lauhakan/whale/literature/fiction.old lists a number.

I've been re-reading More on the Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense lately.

Ran into a friend while on the bus today. She noticed my book, said she'd been told it as good, and she'd read her an early novel by the author, part of a trilogy. After guessing Native Tongue and then The Communipaths I found out that was the Ozark Trilogy, which I admitted I haven't read yet.

In a recent dollar store trip, I found an adorable little figurine of what I promptly decided was a Dragon-Giraffe. Something about the sweeping horns, big eyes and small nose.

Side-view of her next to a sign: It's a girl

Front-view of her with the gold-edged sign.

She needed to be called something incredibly girly, so is Flowerette. (A name I found in Suzette Haden Elgin's Native Tongue series.)
